Uncle Billy’s Kona Bay Hotel will temporarily close its doors effective Thursday due to concerns over the coronavirus pandemic.
“We are deeply saddened to suspend operations but understand we must do our part to stop the spread in our community and protect the residents of Hawaii Island,” hotel management said in a press release issued Tuesday.
The closure will remain in effect until further notice, management said.
All reservations have been canceled through April 30, the press release said. Any cancellation fees or early departure fees for reservations will be waived during the closure.
Kona Bay Hotel will continue to accept reservations for new arrivals after May 1.
“We will continue to monitor the situation in coordination with Hawaii State officials and will make a determination to reopen when it is safe for guests and staff to return,” management said.
